Once I had decided to move, I was faced with a number of choices. However, I very well knew what life I wanted to be a part of. Yes, the downtown living. Years ago, I remember myself spying on the development happening downtown. I couldn’t stop thinking about how my life would be if I actually did live downtown. Therefore, once I was established, all I was waiting for was an opportunity to arrive and I would shift. Finally, after years of waiting, the day to move came.

We all know how expensive moving can be, however for me moving downtown was very easy financially. I had prepared myself for high priced homes, but I was truly surprised to know how reasonable homes were in downtown area. I had never seen such nice apartments at specially reduced prices, it was all amazing. I chose the area where most of population consisted of young students, who obviously did not have a lot of cash to spend on their houses. Either way, it worked out great for me; I got a great home at a good deal.

While I was surveying different homes down town, I could not help but notice how every home was a lot smaller. Again, I assumed that these were constructed according to small family needs. However, this even worked to my advantage, as I did not have to worry about all the furniture I would need to buy for my house. I had limited space, which was perfect for the essential home furniture. With a smaller house, I also saw a decrease in my utility bills. And with time, I began to realize that downtown living was very economical.

Once I was done with my moving, I was ready to experience the downtown life. After settling down, I began to search for a job and whatever company I wanted to apply to, I realized that it would be walking distance from my house. Living downtown did not require me to have my personal car; I knew I was going to be very comfortable walking and using the public transport. This made me feel healthier and happier, because I knew that I was going to be doing my part for the environment too.

After a few days, I was very pleased with the choice I had made. Downtown living did not require me to have thousands of dollars, in fact once I moved and ended up saving a lot. We all know, how homes, furniture, bills and car fuel can carve a hole in our savings, well I no longer had to worry about that. Therefore, I’ll suggest everyone to try and make an effort to shift downtown, because there is a place for everyone there.
